June 13th 2016

Valérie Nicod joins the Lyon office of Ydès as partner of the Dispute Resolution department, alongside Faye Fisch, from the Paris office.

After being admitted to the Paris Bar in 2002, Valérie Nicod began her career in Paris, at the firm Duclos Thorne Mollet-Vieville, involved in business law, both in advice and litigation. She was admitted to the Lyon bar in 2007 and worked until 2010 at DS Avocats, in the business litigation department. Since 2010, Valérie Nicod has worked in the business litigation department of Bird & Bird, Lyon, where she was appointed Counsel in 2014.

Valérie Nicod is involved in business litigation before all civil, criminal and arbitral courts, and assists Ydès clients in defining pre-litigation and litigation strategies for a clientele of SMEs as well as major companies in various sectors.

She thereby developed valuable experience in unfair competition litigation, unfair business practices law, comparative advertising law, tortious civil liability and contractual liability.

Valérie Nicod also has successful experience in group litigation management for investors in holiday residences against the property fund manager of the residence.

Finally, she has been involved in technical litigation in construction law or liability for defective products, assisting the firm’s clients and their experts in legal and amicable expert appraisals.

As CEDR (Center for Effective Dispute Resolution) certified Mediator, Valérie Nicod has been involved in many mediations and conciliations.

With her arrival at the Lyon office, Ydès develops its Dispute Resolution department, through new practices, in addition to those of Faye Fisch at the Paris office, who is also involved in commercial litigation and from a more technical standpoint, in commercial leases, residential leases, co-ownership law and construction law.
